Available to rent in spring, summer, and fall, Butterfly Park is a lovely location for small gatherings, picnics, and even intimate weddings. The butterfly has long been a symbol of hospice, as its natural life cycle can be likened to the end-of-life transition. Our local hospice center in Keene, Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services, took up this symbol as they created Butterfly Park. Butterfly Park was designed with three areas that represent stages of life: The front section is dedicated to youth and whimsy and includes a sandbox, playful statues and noble spruce trees which offer shade. The theme of the middle section is fruitfulness and maturity and includes picnic tables for sharing meals. The back section’s theme is serenity and contemplation and offers a shaded pergola and bench, as well as a recently dedicated Veteran’s Garden.
